FAQ

How is the program delivered?
As part of the Lymphedema Nutrition School, you will attend a weekly class delivered live via Zoom. After each class the recording will be put into the classroom. You "attend" class my clicking on the zoom link that will be sent to you and listening and watching via your computer.
-
If I can't attend a class live will it be recorded?
Yes. All classes will be recorded. If you have a question, but can't attend, you can send me your question ahead of time.
-
Other than attending class, what else do I have to do?
Each of the classes, begins with a 2-question survey to gauge your knowledge and current eating habits regarding that weeks topic. There will be a "backgrounder" that you can read about the topic and sometimes some additional reading like a related blog post. Then you will attend the live session. During class, you will be asked to set a goal for yourself related to that topic. During the week, you will fill in your "Trigger Tracker" that will allow you to be accountable and also bring some awareness to your lymphedema triggers, food cravings and other important aspect of your health.
-
Why should I take this course?
The Lymphedema Nutrition School is designed with several key goals in mind. 1. To learn about the research around diet, nutrition and lymphedema. 2. To determine your lymphedema food triggers. 3. To reduce your sugar intake and cravings. 4. To help with weight loss, weight maintenance or health at any size. 5. To receive guidance, support and accountability for your goals.
-
Is there a way to communicate with you or the other students in my class?
Yes. During the live class itself, there is time for you to give an update or share your goals for the week. There is also a private Facebook group just for students and alumni of the Lymphedema Nutrition School. You can ask me questions there. You can also email me anytime at [email protected]. I want to make sure you are happy with the Lymphedema Nutrition School, so please reach out with any questions or concerns.
-
Will you be teaching the ketogenic diet
My course is not designed around the ketogenic diet. It is designed around a low sodium, low fat, anti-inflammatory diet. But I know many people with lymphedema are interested in ketogenic eating, which will also work as we can design it to be anti-inflammatory. If you want to do the ketogenic diet while working through the Lymphedema Nutrition School then you are most welcome.
-
What currency is the course in?
The course investment is in Canadian dollars. You can pay using your credit card and if you are outside of Canada, then your credit card will calculate the exchange rate for you.
-
Will the classes be covered by my insurance?
While it's possible your private insurance will cover the cost of the classes, many don't cover virtual classes. If this is important, you should check with them first. If you need, I can provide a receipt with a breakdown of the dates and the cost per class as well as my registration number for the College of Dietitians of Ontario and the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
-
Is there a refund policy?
After class 2, if you aren't happy, then let me know and you will be refunded your money less a $50 admin fee.
