Registered Dietitian Jennette Kilgrow

Jennette Kilgrow, MS, RDN, is a seasoned Registered Dietitian with over two decades of experience, primarily dedicated to education and empowering individuals to transform their relationships with food. Her expertise lies in understanding the brain mechanisms behind cravings and impulsive food choices, helping clients break free from cycles of guilt and shame that often accompany struggles with eating. Through her evidence-based approach, Jennette combines neuroscience, behavioral strategies, and compassionate guidance to equip individuals with the tools they need to make more intentional and fulfilling choices around food. She is passionate about creating a judgment-free space where clients can explore their unique food histories and cultivate a healthier, more confident mindset. Beyond her professional work, Jennette loves learning, playing the piano, doing puzzles and keeping up with her 4 active boys.

I Too Once Struggled with Food Guilt

You can imagine the shame I felt as a nutrition professional that I couldn't get my own self in order...how could I possible help anyone else? I felt like a fraud and a failure...but I found a way out.

In October 2013, life shifted dramatically. My husband and I became caregivers for two handicapped family members while welcoming another baby. Suddenly, my 'put-together' facade crumbled under the weight of stress and anxiety, and I found myself turning to food for comfort. For a while, food was my coping mechanism, but I knew it wasn’t how I wanted to live. Of course, I should know what to do- I had built a career on it. I just didn’t know why I couldn’t get myself to do it consistently. I sought nutrition coaching to align my actions with my values and deepen my understanding of myself. Through prayer and reflection, I’ve come to see that my challenges with anxiety serve a greater purpose. They’ve allowed me to connect with others who feel out of control with food, especially fellow professionals who carry the weight of shame for not having it all together.
